| Kingfishers Whack Bears, 13-1 | The Yokohama Kingfishers defeated the Sapporo Bears, 13-1, at Kanagawa Stadium. Leading the charge for Yokohama was shortstop Daijiro Sato. He hit 3 home runs, while adding 8 RBI and scoring three times. Sapporo, at 52-72, has lost 6 straight.
In the bottom of the first, Sato had a 2-run home run for Yokohama. It was his 16th home run of the season and put the Kingfishers on top, 2-0.
