| Reliables Get Gritty, 3-2 Win | Nagoya Minami Stadium was the site of a tense game between the Yokohama Kingfishers and Hosho Reliables.
The Hosho Reliables topped the Yokohama Kingfishers, 3-2, in 18 innings at Nagoya Minami Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Hosho pitcher Naruto Noda. Reliever Sho Sumi picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Wei-Tzu Otsuki took the loss.
The decisive blow was delivered by Magohachi Tanoue in the bottom of the 18th when he hit a solo home run off 35-year old right-handed pitcher Wei-Tzu Otsuki to win the game for Hosho. The home crowd went nuts.
"Our team showed some spunk," said Tanoue.
The first-place Reliables, at 87-47, now lead their division by 12 games. | |
