The rain did not keep Rakisuta and Kyoto from finishing their game.

Kinichi Harada, who finished 2nd in the EL in wins with 16 last year, had a strong outing for the Rakisuta Rams against the Kyoto Owls at Rakisuta Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-2 win. Gunji Matsuda got the save, the 19th for him this season.

The Rams got a big at-bat from second baseman Takanori Matsui. For the game, Matsui went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 6th double of the season gave Rakisuta a 3-2 lead.

"Really good pitchers have that ability to raise their game when they need to," said Rakisuta manager Kinzo Yoshimura.

With the win, Rakisuta has a record of 63-68. Kyoto falls to 72-59.
