| 8-4 Win Gets Yokohama to 74-48 | The umbrellas came out during the Yokohama-Denki contest at Kanda Stadium.
The Yokohama Kingfishers picked up a win at Kanda Stadium, knocking off the Denki Dynamics, 8-4. Starting pitcher Toshinori Osada played a key role in the triumph. Osada, who finished 4th in the WL in wins with 16 in 1958, went the distance for Yokohama. He gave up 4 runs on 8 hits.
Yokohama used a clutch at-bat from Souhei Tamura to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Kingfishers ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Obviously, you want to go out there and be good every time out," said Osada. "I take the ball every day with the same mindset."
With the victory, the Kingfishers upped their record to 74-48.
