| Denki Upended by Hosho, 8-5 | The rain did not keep Hosho and Denki from finishing their game.
Hosho Reliables starter Takashi Masuda pitched a strong game against the Denki Dynamics at Nagoya Minami Stadium, leading the Reliables to victory, 8-5. Motomu Taira recorded the save for Hosho, his 38th of the season.
Hank Dunham, who finished 2nd in the EL in stolen bases with 21 in 1968, helped out the Hosho cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the left fielder went 2 for 5 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"We took home the win," said Dunham. "What's not to like?"
Hosho goes to 80-43. The win puts them 13 games up in their division.
