| 9-8 Loss Extends Hosho Losing Streak | Kingfishers left fielder Yonekichi Okazaki put his stamp on his team's 9-8 win over the Hosho Reliables. Okazaki went 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3 for Yokohama in the contest. Katsusaburo Yagi got the save, the 3rd for him this season. The Kingfishers have now reeled off 10 straight wins.
Tsuchiura, Japan-born Yoshifumi Torigoe came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the eighth, with the bases loaded and the Kingfishers trailing 8-7, he hit a 2-run single to center to put Yokohama on top.
"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Okazaki told the Yokohama Gazette.
