| Red-Hot Kingfishers Win Again | The Yokohama Kingfishers beat the Hosho Reliables, 6-2. Yokohama pitcher and Fukuyama, Japan, native Matsuta Mori led the way. Mori, the winner, moves to 2-1. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk. The Kingfishers have now won 9 straight.
In the bottom of the second, Yokohama first baseman Tsuguto Nakamura had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out, Nakamura stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 2-0, Yokohama. For the game, he was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI.
