| Rams Topple Kingfishers, 7-2 | Led by Shouta Fukushima, the Rakisuta Rams defeated the Yokohama Kingfishers, 7-2. Fukushima was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Rams. Shigeyoshi Taira was the winner. He's now 6-9. The loser was two-time All-Star Meguru Kanda. The Rams saw their win-loss record go to 54-60. At the same time, the Kingfishers fell to 46-68.
Fukushima contributed in the bottom of the fourth. With the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It was one at-bat among others that helped Rakisuta get the win.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Fukushima.
