| Reliables Best Kingfishers, 5-2 | Enthusiastic fans came out to support the home team at Kanagawa Stadium.
The Hosho Reliables picked up a win at Kanagawa Stadium, taking down the Yokohama Kingfishers, 5-2. Starting pitcher Niou Nagao was a big reason why. Picking up his 2nd save was 23-year old right-handed pitcher Sadakazu Minami.
Nagao contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Hosho in the top of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Nagao took a fastball from Toshinori Osada and stroked the double to left. His 1st double of the season allowed the Reliables to leap in front, 2-1.
"Niou was exceptional and he pitched with a purpose," said Hosho manager Shun Kawamura.
Hosho is now 58-47. Yokohama is 52-52.
