| Kingfishers Lose at Home, 7-4 | The rain came, as predicted, but the Yokohama Kingfishers and Kyoto Owls were able to complete their ballgame.
The Yokohama Kingfishers topped the Kyoto Owls, 7-4, at Owls Park. Yokohama catcher Sukeyasu Arakawa was a spark plug for the offense. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Yokohama pitcher Minao Akagi got the win. He's now 3-0. Toshimasa Kobayashi was tagged with the loss. Toshinori Osada notched his 16th save in 28 chances.
Yokohama third baseman Fujimaro Sonoda helped his team take an early lead. In the top of the first, with the bases loaded, he grounded out, driving in 1 run.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Arakawa.
The triumph puts Yokohama at 61-38 for the season.
