| Down Goes Denki, 6-5, to Kyoto | Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Kyoto Owls and Denki Dynamics.
The Kyoto Owls beat the Denki Dynamics, 6-5, at Owls Park. Kyoto left fielder Shun Smith had an outstanding performance. He went 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Kento Okada got the win, improving to 10-5. He held the Dynamics to 5 runs on 5 hits over 7.1 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 0.
Kyoto third baseman Tensui Kato contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a curveball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 93rd hit of the season and put the Owls ahead, 3-0.
"If the personal accolades come, so be it," said Kato. "I just want to win ballgames."
The Owls now own a record of 56-47.
