| Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Kingfishers | The Yokohama Kingfishers grabbed a win, 8-6, over the Denki Dynamics in 10 innings at Kanda Stadium. Yokohama right fielder Thoki Kaneshige was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Yokohama reliever NorogumiOda Tominaga picked up the win, upping his record to 3-6. Tenshou Hirata was saddled with the loss. The Kingfishers now own a record of 38-59.
Yokohama used the timely hitting of Naota Nagashima to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Kingfishers on top, 6-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Masayoshi Nozawa.
