The Hosho Reliables topped the Yokohama Kingfishers, 14-8, with third baseman Billy McCullough playing a big role. McCullough hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Reliables in the win. The 'W' lifts Hosho's record to 57-38.

Fumimaro Yamauchi, who finished 5th in the EL in innings pitched with 206.2 in 1960, threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball for Hosho. In a tie game with two out in the top of the sixth, Yamauchi came through with a run-scoring strikeout. It put the Reliables in front, 6-5.

"Good to pick up this win," Yamauchi said.
