Reliables Improve to 79-43 with 8-7 Win
Hosho and Denki took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.

The Hosho Reliables grabbed a win, 8-7, over the Denki Dynamics at Nagoya Minami Stadium. Hosho first baseman Yukio Watanabe was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 times. Motomu Taira recorded the save, his 37th.

Toshimasa Ikeda, who finished 3rd in the WL in extra base hits with 44 in 1967, helped out the Hosho cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the right fielder went 1-3 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Ikeda.

Hosho improves to 79-43 with the win. They lead their division by 13 games.
