| Reliables Suffer One-Run Loss at Kyoto | The Kyoto Owls and Hosho Reliables obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.
The Kyoto Owls picked up a win at Owls Park, downing the Hosho Reliables, 5-4. On the mound for Kyoto was left-hander Tsugunosuke Takeuchi, who played a pivotal role in the win. The winning pitcher was Takeuchi, now 9-4. He tossed 8.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 5.
The Owls got a big at-bat from left fielder Seisaku Nishimura. For the game, Nishimura went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Kyoto a 3-1 lead.
"The guys seem happy with the win. That's good, I guess," said Takeuchi.
With the win, the Owls sit at 43-41.
