| Komatsu Stops Rakisuta | Arata Komatsu of the Sapporo Bears spun his magic on the Rakisuta Rams. He blanked them, 7-0, on 4 hits, registering 7 strikeouts and no walks.
"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Komatsu said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Sapporo skipper Earl Higgins said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."
"Arata pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.
This year, Komatsu has posted a record of 6 wins and 10 losses with a 3.06 ERA. He has appeared in 19 games and struck out 99 in 141 innings. | |
