Matsui Powers Rams to 7-2 Win | The game between Rakisuta and Kyoto is in the books, despite a little rain.
Rakisuta second baseman Takanori Matsui made his presence felt in the 7-2 Rams triumph over the Kyoto Owls. Matsui went 4-4 with 4 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Kiyoshige Abe snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Toshimasa Kobayashi suffered the loss.
The Rams got a big at-bat from third baseman Kihachi Harada. For the game, Harada was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. In the top of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Rakisuta a 2-0 lead.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Rakisuta manager Bob Lester.
The Rams improved their record to 30-36 with the win over Kyoto. | |
