Sapporo was led by 34-year old center fielder Hidetsugu Yoshida, who went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Senichi Soga, who is tied for 3rd in the EL in wins with 8, earned the save for Sapporo. The Bears now have a mark of 43-31.
Kannon Yamamoto had a key at-bat with two out in the top of the sixth for Sapporo. With the bases loaded and the Bears leading 2-1, he hit a 2-run single.
"Anytime we get it going, it puts a smile on my face," said Yoshida.
