| Hosho Listless in 12-1 Loss | Rakisuta starter Kiyoshige Abe throttled the Hosho offense, as the Rams won in a rout, 12-1. Abe, now 4-3, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. By defeating Hosho, the 4th-place Rams improved to 34-33.
Gou Kawamoto, who finished 3rd in the WL in on-base percentage with .376 in 1954, contributed to the Rakisuta win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder had 3 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 3 runs scored, and 2 runs batted in.
