| Kingfishers Use Late Surge to Win | Wet weather did not postpone the Yokohama-Kyoto ballgame.
The Yokohama Kingfishers picked up a win at Owls Park, knocking off the Kyoto Owls, 5-3. Starting pitcher Tatsuo Sato was a big reason why. The save went to Katsusaburo Yagi, number 1 for him.
Yokohama used a timely hit from Fujimaro Sonoda to get the win. The third baseman stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Kingfishers ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.
"Tatsuo made his pitches," said Yokohama manager Tommy McDonell.
Yokohama has now won 4 straight.
