| Owls Lose, 4-2, as Kingfishers Rally | The Yokohama Kingfishers and Kyoto Owls fought to the finish at Owls Park.
Starting pitcher Masatoshi Sakai was a major factor in the 4-2 Yokohama Kingfishers triumph over the Kyoto Owls. Yokohama now sits at 41-28, while Kyoto falls to 38-38.
Yokohama used a timely hit from four-time All-Star Yonekichi Okazaki to get the win. The left fielder delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Kingfishers on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was huge.
"My job is to go out and execute," said Sakai.
