| Kingfishers Take Down Reliables, 8-5 | The Yokohama Kingfishers overcame a pretty good performance by Hosho left fielder Hank Dunham, beating the Reliables, 8-5, at Nagoya Minami Stadium. Dunham went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Munenao Shintani earned the win to go to 6-6. He allowed 5 runs on 6 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work. Yokohama is now 27-51, Hosho 49-30.
With one out in the top of the seventh, Fujimaro Sonoda had a game-changing hit. The Kingfishers third baseman slammed a run-scoring single off Junya Yamagata, making the score 6-4, Yokohama.
"Good to pick up this win," Sonoda said.
