| Kyoto Beats Hosho, 4-2 | Getting an impressive start from Toshimasa Kobayashi, Kyoto beat Hosho by the score of 4-2. The save was credited to Satsuya Shindo, his 3rd. Kyoto is now 33-37, while Hosho is 40-29.
Kyoto used a well-timed hit by Ed Cone to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Owls ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Anything I can do to help the team win," said Cone.
