| Owls Lose By a Run at Hosho | Though the conditions were not ideal, the Hosho Reliables and Kyoto Owls came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
The Hosho Reliables dealt the Kyoto Owls a 5-4 loss at Nagoya Minami Stadium. Tenmu Kurosawa was the star on offense. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Takashi Masuda, the winner, is now 10-4. He struck out 2 and walked 1 over 8 innings, while allowing 4 runs on 5 hits. Motomu Taira earned the save, his 24th in 25 tries.
Kurosawa contributed in the bottom of the third. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was one at-bat among others that helped Hosho get the win.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Kyoto manager Tomoya Nagao said, following the tough loss.
The Reliables have an impressive 47-28 record.
