| Owls Edge Reliables, 4-3 | The Kyoto Owls faced a tough opponent in Hosho pitcher Shihei Saito, but found a way to pull out the victory at Nagoya Minami Stadium by a final score of 4-3 in 11 innings. Saito went 8.2 innings and allowed 3 runs. Seishiro Kikuchi snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 2 innings. He's now 2-2 on the season. The win for the Owls raised their record to 41-35.
Toyohiro Wada, who is tied for 6th in the EL in RBI with 53, had a direct impact on the outcome. Wada contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the 11th inning to put Kyoto up, 4-3.
