| Reliables Roll to 10-2 Win Over Owls | The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Hosho fans at Nagoya Minami Stadium.
Riding the 3-hit performance of the former first round draft pick Yamahiko Hirata, the Hosho Reliables stopped the Kyoto Owls, 10-2. The win lifted the Hosho record to 39-27.
Hosho took advantage of an error in the bottom of the seventh inning. The game was tied, 2-2, when Bill Bloom hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Reliables in front, 3-2.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Hirata said.
