Thrilling Victory Pushes Reliables Win Streak to 5
Yokohama first baseman Thoki Kaneshige had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 6-5, to Hosho at Nagoya Minami Stadium. Kaneshige was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Junya Yamagata, 6-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. The victory gives the Reliables a record of 44-27.

The Reliables were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when three-time All-Star Ryunosuke Kodama landed a big blow. He turned a 1-2 sinker from Yoisuke Nishizawa into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Nagoya Minami Stadium denizens into a frenzy and sent the Reliables home with a thrilling 6-5 win.

"The crowd was raucous," said Kodama.
