| Kingfishers Raise Rally Flag, Beat Rakisuta, 6-2 | Starting pitcher Shigeyasu Hirayama was a major factor in the 6-2 Yokohama Kingfishers triumph over the Rakisuta Rams. Yokohama pitcher Minao Akagi earned the win, hiking his record to 1-1. Kiyoshige Abe suffered the loss. The win for the Kingfishers raised their record to 37-29.
Yokohama took a 4-2 lead on Tokita Oishi's 11th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Oishi hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Rakisuta pitcher Kiyoshige Abe visibly frustrated.
"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Oishi told the Yokohama Times. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
