| Bears Get Past Kyoto, 3-2 | The Sapporo Bears earned a win at Sapporo Stadium, leveling the Kyoto Owls, 3-2, in 10. Masaru Ryu played a big role in his team's success. At 25-41, the Bears claim 5th place in the Eastern League.
The Bears got a clutch hit from first baseman Sam Carpenter. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Bears.
"This game showed the grit and grind of our guys," said Carpenter.
