Shihei Saito, who is tied for 2nd in the EL in quality starts with 11, propelled his team to victory over the Yokohama Kingfishers. The final score was 6-3, Hosho. Hosho now sports a record of 43-21.
Hosho won the game in part because of Toshimasa Ikeda. The right fielder ripped a solo home run in the top of the third inning to put the Reliables ahead, 2-0. For the game, Ikeda had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Ikeda told the Hosho News.
