Road Win Lifts Detroit to 2-1 Lead in WCS | With starter Jack Halbur leading the charge, the Detroit Dynamos crushed the Kansas City Kings, 9-2, in Game 3 of the World Championship Series. Halbur threw 9.0 innings of 4-hit ball at Prairie Park as Detroit breezed to a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Halbur, a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was dealing all game. He kept Kansas City hitters off-balance, while giving the Dynamos 9 quality innings. Halbur threw 101 pitches, allowing 4 hits and striking out 3.
"Every team in baseball loses," Kings manager Glenn Carney said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."
