| Saito Silences Yokohama Bats | Hosho and Yokohama duked it out and the Reliables came out victorious.
In a low-scoring affair between the Hosho Reliables and the Yokohama Kingfishers, pitcher Shihei Saito was the difference between victory and defeat. The Hosho right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-0 Reliables win. Motomu Taira finished to wrap up his 20th save.
Saito's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 4 strikeouts in 8 innings while allowing 3 hits. Saito, who finished 2nd in the EL in ERA with 3.08 last year, goes to 8-3 on the year with 43 strikeouts.
"I found a nice groove out there," said Saito.
Hosho, at 37-18, is 7½ games up in the Eastern League.
