| Kingfishers Handle Reliables, 5-1 | Yokohama picked up a win at Kanagawa Stadium, bumping off the Hosho Reliables, 5-1. Pitcher Masatoshi Sakai was a major reason the Kingfishers emerged victorious. Toshinori Osada earned the save for Yokohama, his 7th of the year. The victory gives the Kingfishers a record of 31-17.
Thoki Kaneshige, who is tied for 2nd in the EL in total bases with 111, aided the Yokohama cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third. For the game, the right fielder was 1-3 with a walk.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Sakai said after the game.
