| Owls Slap 4-3 Loss on Rakisuta | The rain could not keep the home crowd from enjoying a good ballgame.
The Kyoto Owls topped the Rakisuta Rams, 4-3, in Eastern League action at Owls Park. The standout performance belonged to Kyoto pitcher and Kyoto, Japan, native Norikazu Takai. Matashichi Matsunaga closed the game out for Kyoto, earning his 2nd save.
Bungo Arai had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for Kyoto. With a runner on 3rd and the Owls leading 3-1, he grounded out, driving in 1 run.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Rakisuta skipper Kinzo Yoshimura.
The Owls saw their win-loss record go to 29-26. At the same time, the Rams fell to 27-29.
