| Otani Hits 2 home runs in Rams Win | The 3-hit performance of Teiljo Otani, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1950 draft, helped the Rakisuta Rams beat the Kyoto Owls, 4-2. Kiyoshige Abe was called on to finish, recording his 1st save. The 4th-place Owls have lost 7 consecutive games.
Otani had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 1-0 curveball from Katsumi Sato, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Rams a 3-1 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Otani.
"We bring energy to every game," said losing manager Takejiro Yonemura. "But it's got to translate into wins."
