| Bears Beat Dynamics, 2-0, Behind Yamanaka | The Sapporo Bears received a superlative performance from starting pitcher Yamada Yamanaka, allowing them to bump off the Denki Dynamics, 2-0. Eisaku Yamaoka earned the save, his 3rd, for the Bears. The last-place Bears improved to 17-31.
It was an impressive outing from the soft-spoken Yamanaka, who tallied 5 strikeouts in 8 innings and allowed only 2 hits. Yamanaka, who is tied for 10th in the EL in wins with 4, raised his record to 4-3 on the year with 40 strikeouts.
"I was able to get good plays made behind me," Yamanaka said. "And I was able to make pitches when I needed to make pitches."
