| Bears Victorious at Yokohama, 5-3 | The Sapporo Bears topped the Yokohama Kingfishers, 5-3, with youngster Ryunosuke Onishi playing a key role. Onishi went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Bears in the win. Picking up the save was Senichi Soga, his 5th. The Bears sport a record of 16-26.
The game turned with no one out in the top of the fourth when Onishi hit a 2-run single. It thrust the Bears into the lead, 4-2.
"We'll build on this win," said Onishi.
