| Hosho Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win | The Hosho Reliables and Kyoto Owls fought to the finish at Nagoya Minami Stadium.
The Hosho Reliables took Ukita Tomita's best shot and still were able to collect a win at Nagoya Minami Stadium. The final score had Hosho getting past the Owls, 8-7, in 10 innings. Tomita over 8 innings allowed 4 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 6. Hosho pitcher Sho Sumi got the win, upping his record to 5-1. Yamashita Takimoto got the loss.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Hosho catcher Yorihiko Kawata, facing Yamashita Takimoto, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Reliables the 8-7 win.
Kawata expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
Hosho is now 30-14.
