Tadanori Miyata pitched a gem to lead Kyoto to victory over the Hosho Reliables, 7-0. The second-place Owls have won 4 in a row.
In the top of the fifth, with the game still scoreless, Miyata hit a run-scoring single to put his team in the lead.
"When Tadanori is on, he can really move the ball around," said Kyoto manager Takejiro Yonemura.
