| Reliables Bridle Kingfishers, 3-1 | Despite the rain, the fans at Nagoya Minami Stadium enjoyed a good ballgame.
The Hosho Reliables, behind a great outing from Eichiro Ueno, who finished 4th in the EL in innings pitched with 240.0 in 1951, defeated the Yokohama Kingfishers, 3-1, at Nagoya Minami Stadium. Ueno, the winner, moves to 5-3. He threw 5 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 1 and giving up 2 walks. Zenichiro Tsuji earned the save, his 3rd, for the Reliables.
In the bottom of the fourth, Hosho first baseman Bill Bloom had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 3rd and one out, Bloom stroked a run-scoring single to left. It made the score 2-1, Hosho. For the game, he was 1-4.
"Eichiro was hitting his spots and everything had life," said Hosho manager Shun Kawamura.
With the win, the Reliables hiked their record to 21-19.
