| Bears Edge Past Rams, 5-4 | Rakisuta center fielder Ryunosuke Onishi had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Onishi was 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3, even as Sapporo beat the Rams, 5-4. Eisaku Yamaoka earned the save for Sapporo, his 2nd. With the win, the Bears improved to 15-29.
Sapporo used a timely hit from Takatoshi Yamamoto to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Bears ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a difference-maker.
Yamamoto called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
