| Owls Get Past Denki, 3-2 | The Kyoto Owls, with some walk-off drama, delighted their fans at Owls Park.
In a low-scoring affair between the Kyoto Owls and the Denki Dynamics, pitcher Toshimasa Kobayashi was the difference between victory and defeat. The Kyoto left-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Owls win. Kyoto reliever Naizen Sano picked up the win, upping his record to 1-3. Meguru Kanda absorbed the loss.
Kyoto got a jolt from Tadao Hasegawa. The pinch hitter ripped a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it brought the house down.
"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Kobayashi.
Kyoto is now 22-20, while Denki is 10-26.
