| Sapporo Upended by Rakisuta, 4-3 | The Rakisuta Rams got a rain-soaked win over the Sapporo Bears.
The Rakisuta Rams besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Sapporo shortstop Shikato Murata by beating the Bears, 4-3, at Rakisuta Stadium. Murata was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Kinichi Harada got the win, improving to 6-4. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 3.
The Rams got a big at-bat from right fielder Seisuke Kamo. For the game, Kamo was 2 for 3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 6th double of the season gave Rakisuta a 4-2 lead.
In postgame remarks, Kamo hailed his team's "single-minded determination."
Rakisuta is 19-23 and Sapporo, with the loss, 14-29.
