| Dynamics Win, 5-1, at Kyoto | The Denki Dynamics got a rain-soaked win over the Kyoto Owls.
Yoshitsune Nakamura, the first overall pick in the 1959 draft, imposed his will on the Owls from the get-go. Relying mainly on his fastball, the right-hander spearheaded the 5-1 Denki triumph. Nakamura picked up the win for Denki, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 2-3.
Denki won the game in part because of Kinnojo Hirao. The first baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Dynamics ahead, 4-1. For the game, Hirao had 1 double and 1 home run in 3 at-bats.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said Dynamics manager Harlan Kowatch. "This one was nice to get."
Denki, with the win, climbs to 10-25.
