| Kingfishers Roll Over Rams, 10-4 | The skies opened up and the rain fell at Kanagawa Stadium.
Behind a fine performance from Yonekichi Okazaki, the Yokohama Kingfishers knocked off the Rakisuta Rams, 10-4. Okazaki was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs for the Kingfishers. The winning pitcher was former first round draft pick Fumimaro Yamauchi. He tossed 115 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits.
Daijiro Sato had a big bases-clearing double for the Kingfishers in the bottom of the second inning. With Yokohama trailing 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Morihiro Arakaki, who finished 2nd in the EL in ERA with 2.65 in 1957, and swatted a double to left. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Kingfishers ahead, 3-1.
"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Okazaki.
With the win, Yokohama upped its record to 21-15.
