| Sailors Make Losers of Stars | Los Angeles second baseman Charlie Barrell had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Barrell was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times, even as San Francisco beat the Stars, 4-3. Eddie Whitney was the winner. Over 7.1 innings, he yielded 3 runs on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. Roy Rice earned save number 8 this season.
Bob Gray, the 2nd overall pick in the 1950 draft, had a direct impact on the outcome. Gray contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put San Francisco up, 3-1.
