The Houston Comets picked up a win at Dalton Domed Stadium, dropping the Philadelphia Keystones, 6-2. Jay Hunt, who finished 3rd in the FA in saves with 24 in 1971, was the difference-maker. Bob Young was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 17 of 22 save opportunities. The win makes Houston 62-54.

Delivering for the home team was nine-time All-Star John Edwards. In the bottom of the fifth, the veteran right fielder had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 4-2, Comets.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Edwards said.
