| Saints Score Late, Clip Kings, 7-6 | The Montreal Saints beat the Seattle Kings, 7-6, in part because of catcher Whitey Schindler. He was 2-4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Miguel Hernandez locked down his 19th save. The 'W' lifts Montreal's record to 53-63.
Montreal took a 7-6 lead on Jim Hendricks's 28th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Hendricks hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Seattle pitcher Billy Collins visibly frustrated.
"I was seeing the ball well tonight," said Schindler.
