Williams Shines, But Foresters Fall Short
The Los Angeles Stars overcame a pretty good performance by Cleveland first baseman Paul Williams, beating the Foresters, 13-9, at Bigsby Stadium. Williams went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while adding 7 RBI and scoring once. The win for the Stars lifted their record to 41-33.

Los Angeles second baseman Charlie Barrell contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a sinker to left field for a 2-run single. It was his 77th hit of the season and put the Stars ahead, 11-8.

"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Barrell told the Los Angeles Gazette.
