| Bassett Silences San Francisco, 1-0 | Dick Bassett really had his stuff working at Foresters Park. The Portland Foresters hurler mystified the San Francisco Miners, shutting them out, 1-0. Bassett allowed a total of 5 hits in the ballgame and struck out 7.
"The shutout is nice, but I'm just happy we won," Bassett said with a smile after the game. "Coach can be a real bear when we lose."
