| Butler Hot, Saints Cold | In a seemingly effortless performance, Lou Butler of the Portland Foresters shot down the Los Angeles Saints, 6-0, on 4 hits.
"Lou was just locating so well and using his pitches," Portland manager Kevin McCart said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."
Butler recorded 4 strikeouts and 4 walks in a strong outing.
"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Los Angeles manager Ray Zimmerman said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
Butler has started 33 times this year, pitched 273.2 innings, fanned 159 batters and walked 67. His current record is 22 wins and 10 losses with a 3.06 ERA. | |
