Cronin Slaps 5 Hits
Speaking with reporters after a dominating hitting performance, Sparky Cronin said his club's tilt with the Portland Foresters "felt almost like batting practice." The 20-year-old first baseman went a remarkable 5-for-6 at the plate.

"I saw the ball well and could just about hit it anywhere I wanted," he recalled later.

However, his sensational day wasn't enough for the Seattle Warriors, who were topped by the Foresters, 9-8.

"It's a good lesson for him, I guess," Warriors manager Morgan Lewis said. "Sometimes Sparky is going to lose. But I would rather him go 5-for-6 and lose than go 0-for-6 and lose."

Sparky Cronin singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.

Thus far this year, Cronin has hit .401 with 3 home runs and 21 RBIs.
