| On Road, Dynamos Top Gothams, 4-2 | Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Detroit Dynamos and New York Gothams.
Detroit Dynamos starter Jack Williams was on his game, helping his team beat the New York Gothams, 4-2. Bob Reed was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.
With Detroit leading 1-0 in the top of the seventh, Williams hit a run-scoring single off New York hurler Curtis Robinson. It was the 4th hit of the season for Williams and put his team ahead, 2-0.
After the game, Williams refused to speak to a reporter for the Detroit Herald. "You've accused me of throwing teammates under the bus," he said. "So, excuse me if I decline to answer your questions."
The Gothams fall to 11-15 and continue their sub-.500 start to the 1974 season.
